Essas três regras foram replicadas por Johnny mais de 30 anos depois, como uma forma de redenção e resgate do passado. Mesmo que com todo o trauma que afetou até mesmo o seu comportamento, e toda a relação com seu filho. 
Foi Miguel Diaz que inspirou o retorno.  Acompanhamos durante a narrativa um dojo que transforma nerds em durões, posteriormente, em babacas, exatamente como Johnny foi no passado. 
Durante o torneio regional vemos a consolidação da rivalidade entre Cobra Kai e Miyagi-do, na luta final temos que Ver Miguel Diaz contra Robby, o filho de Lawrence treinado por Larusso.
 Diaz apresentado como um garoto bom não pensa duas vezes antes de atacar sem nenhuma piedade o ferimento de seu adversário, e vence o torneio. O troféu de campeão finalmente estava na posse do Cobra Kai. 
Mas por algum motivo Johnny não estava inserido naquele contexto pois ele percebe finalmente uma dos maiores fundamentos das artes marciais. Lutar sem piedade não é a mesma coisa que lutar sem honra.  Na segunda temporada vemos com evolui a briga entre Cobra Kai e Miyagi-Do, duas vertentes opostas de karate, um pregando a força, a iniciativa e a coragem, o outro pregando a calma, o cuidado e a meditação. Qual dos dois estão certos? a resposta é fácil.
 os dois estão. Então por quê no fim tudo dá errado? O método e a rivalidade. A verdade é que o ideal para um artista marcial é além de ser um cara “durão” é ter autocontrole, saber medir suas ações, ser forte e calmo, ou seja, Cobra Kai e Miyagi-Do no fundo se completam muito bem.
 Porém o método inicial do Cobra Kai gravou na mente dos alunos que tá tudo bem perder o controle, que eles estão sendo durões fazendo isso, e o vício de Larusso na sua rivalidade se tornou tão importante que não esteve apenas cima de seus alunos, mas também de sua família e trabalho. Foram vários momentos de união entre Johnny Lawrence e Daniel Larusso que foram jogados fora por conta de um egocentrismo inútil e uma rivalidade infantil. Resultado: Uma escola vandalizada diversos alunos de ambos os dojo no hospital após, Diaz em estado grave.

But for some reason Johnny was not inserted in that context because he finally realizes one of the greatest foundations of the martial arts. Fighting without mercy is not the same as fighting without honor. In the second season we see how the fight between Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do evolves, two opposite strands of karate, one preaching strength, initiative and courage, the other preaching calm, care and meditation. Which of the two are right? the answer is easy.
 both are. So why does it all go wrong in the end? The method and the rivalry. The truth is that the ideal for a martial artist is in addition to being a “tough guy” is to have self-control, to know how to measure your actions, to be strong and calm, in other words, Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do at the bottom are very well completed.
 However, Cobra Kai's initial method recorded in the students' minds that it's okay to lose control, that they are being tough doing it, and Larusso's addiction to his rivalry has become so important that he was not only on top of his students, but also from your family and work. There were several moments of union between Johnny Lawrence and Daniel Larusso that were thrown away due to a useless egocentrism and a childhood rivalry.
